PACIFIC NOW FLIES TO CLARK ON SUNDAYS
December 10, 2001
Effective
December 14, this year, Cebu Pacific Airways will start flying
every Sunday from Clark to Cebu in addition to its thrice-weekly
flight operation.
This was the announcement made by Regional Director Ronaldo Tiotuico
of the regional office of the Department of Tourism – Region III
in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga.
Tiotuico
said that the decision of Cebu Pacific to fly on a Sunday was
triggered by the persistent public demand for additional flights
to enable travelers to avail themselves of a flight back during
weekends. Cebu Pacific now flies to Clark from Cebu every Monday,
Wednesday and Friday.
With the added flight frequency on a Sunday, it is expected that
the load factor will correspondingly increase as the Christmas
season is at its peak. In the past some business opportunities
were lost to Manila in view of the non-availability of weekend
flights to and from Clark. In fact more than 200 potential convention-bound
passengers to Cebu last November had to bypass Clark and instead
fly from Manila only because of a no-weekend flight here in Clark.
Tiotuico said that Cebu Pacific management is convinced that the
regular flight operation in Clark will continuously be on the
upswing with the coming long-weekend holidays and the holding
of a number of conventions in Cebu and Clark. The flight operation
started in October 26 with just 20% occupancy level. Now the flights
are hitting close to 30% occupancy and the level is continuously
growing, according to Tiotuico.
Issued on 10 December 2001, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.
