SOUTHERN
PHILIPPINE ADVENTURE

days/ 5 nights) DESCRIPTION Southern Philippine Adventure is a program designed to highlight both the two contrasting cultural attractions of the Philippines. It traces the development of the Philippine history from the coming of Islam and the introduction of Christianity in the country. This program brings the visitors to the colorful tribes of the Philippine south in particular Lake Sebu for the remaining tribal group in Mindanao, the T'boli who dwells around the lake of Lake Sebu. The tour then connects to Cebu and Bohol of the Visayas where Christianity first developed in the country.
Day 01. Manila > Cotabato Transfer to Manila Domestic Airport to take flight 2P835 (0940H/1120H) for Cotabato City. Upon arrival, take private jeepney for the tour of the city of Cotabato. Visit Cotabato City Hall and its plaza, the public market, the PC Hill and Kutang Bato. Then proceed to the wharf to take motorized boat for a mini-cruise along Tamontaka River to visit villages on stilts and the ethnic Muslim community. Return to the city for lunch in a local seafood specialty restaurant. Then visit Cotabato museum that displays artifacts and cold photographs of the different Cultural minorities in the region. Afternoon drive to Lake Sebu, the home of the T'boli tribes. Upon arrival, check-in at Estares Hillside Resort, a simple basic lake shore resort, for accommodation. Day 02. Lake Sebu American breakfast at the resort. Morning countryside tour of Lake Sebu by private air-conditioned transportation. Visit the once a week market day, on Saturdays in Lake Sebu and the Thursdays in Luhib. From the market, visit the T'boli weaving village. Then proceed to visit the nearby village where natives present a cultural presentation of their songs and dances. After the visit proceed to the resort for lunch. Then leave in the afternoon for the trek to the first two falls of the 7-Falls. After the trek, take time to visit Lamalo Weavers to see the traditional T'inalak weaving. Return to the resort in the afternoon. Then, by the resort take motorized boat for a sunset cruise of the picturesque Lake Sebu. Accommodation at the resort. Day 03. Lake Sebu > Gen. Santos > Cebu Early American breakfast at the resort. Then, leave by private transportation to General Santos City to take flight 2P852 (0940H/1040H) for Cebu. Upon arrival in Cebu, transfer to Cebu Plaza Hotel passing by the battle site of Magellan and Lapu-lapu. Check-in at the Cebu Plaza Hotel Hotel for accommodation. Afternoon visit of Cebu City beginning at Magellan's Cross. Proceed to Fort San Pedro, Casa Gorordo Museum, and the Taoist Temple . End the visit at Carbon public market. Return to the hotel after the tour for dinner and accommodation. Day 04. Cebu > Bohol American breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the pier to take the ferry boat (1115H) to Tagbilaran. Upon arrival in Tagbilaran (1245H), transfer to Bohol Beach Club for accommodations. Afternoon tour of Panglao Island with visits to Dauis Church, Hinagdanan Cave, the Spanish-built Watch Tower, Panglao Church and Panglao Market. Accommodation and dinner at the hotel. Day 05. Bohol American breakfast at the hotel. Full day tour of the countryside of Carmen where the main attraction is the Chocolate Hills, a uniformly shape mound of hills that turns brown during summer and resembles giant chocolate candy mounds, hence the name. En route to Carmen visit Bohol's oldest church, the Baclayon. On the way back, in the town of Loboc, board a floating restaurant for lunch and cruise on the green, palm-fringed Loay River. Back to the hotel after the tour for accommodation. Day 06. Bohol > Cebu > Manila American breakfast at the resort. Transfer to the pier to take the ferryboat (1300H) to Cebu. Upon arrival in Cebu (1430H), transfer to the airport to take flight 2P518 (1610H/1720H) for Manila. |
