DESCRIPTION
The Visayan
group of islands conjures images of the Pacific which was once traversed
by Ferdinand Magellan, the Portuguese explorer. Commissioned by Spain
to find an alternative route to the Spice Islands, he instead discovered
the Philippines. The Visayan seascape connects three major islands in
the Philippines: Leyte, Samar and Cebu. Marine parks, caves and sights
of historical importance will dazzle travelers to these islands.
ITINERARY
Day 01
(Mon). Arrival in Manila.
Transfer to the Heritage Hotel for accommodations.
Day 02
(Tue). Manila > Tacloban
ABF. Transfer to the Manila Domestic Airport for the flight to Tacloban.
In Tacloban, transfer to Leyte Park Hotel for accommodation. Afternoon
walking tour of the city and the nearby local market.
Day 03
(Wed). Sohoton National Park
ABF. Leave for the town of Basey for a short visit of the mat weavers,
then take motorized boat to cruise the Golden River of Samar to the Sohoton
National Park. Explore the Panhulugan Cave. Pick - nick lunch at the park.
Return to the hotel in the afternoon.
Day 04
(Thurs). Marabut Marine Park
ABF. Leave by motorized boat to the Marabut Marine Park. Cruise by the
park for its numerous virgin islets. Lunch at Marabut Marine Park by the
beach. Afternoon swimming, kayaking around the rock islands. Return to
Leyte Park Hotel in the afternoon for accommodation.
Day 05
(Fri). Tacloban > Ormoc > Cebu.
After breakfast leave for Ormoc to take fast ferry to Cebu. In Cebu, transfer
to Maribago Bluewater Resort for accommodation.
Day 06-07
Cebu.
Daily ABF at the resort. Free at leisure for swimming.
Day 08
(Mon). Cebu > Manila
ABF. Transfer to the Cebu International Airport for the flight to Manila,
transfer to the International airport for the departure flight.
