See
Cagayan Valley and the Cordilleras in a different light!
From Oct. 22-26, 2002 the North Caravan Tour Consortium will tour
the wonders of Cagayan Valley and the Cordilleras Region. The tour
has four types of run with eight itineraries to match and blend
with your adventurous and personal tastes.
OPTION
2 - TRADERS' FAMILIARIZATION TOUR
REVIEW: medium-paced; relatively leisurely; mild
intensity exploration; a
pleasant mix of business and pleasure, with a twist of cultural,
educational and adventure tour for the business-minded
ITINERARY:
DAY 01 Clark - San Jose City - Sta. Fe - Bayombong - Banaue
Visit the Imugan Community, known for its organic food processing
en route to Banaue, Ifugao, home to the 8th Wonder of the World,
the Ifugao Rice Terraces. Expect the province's mini-trade fair
showcasing their best products.
DAY 02 Banaue - Bagabag - Cabbaroguis (Quirino)
Can't get enough of age-old indigenous culture? Trek up to
Banaue's Banga-an, Poitan, or Hapao Village (either one would take
up to an average of 2 hour hiking time) then proceed to Cabarroguis,
the capital town of the province of Quirino, to see the 37-chamber
Aglipay caves and campsite. Be amazed by its six subterranean waterfalls
- source of which has not yet been discovered to date, and of course,
the well-preserved stalactites and stalagmites.
DAY
03 Cabbaroguis - Santiago-Magat - Ilagan
Take a walk along the butterfly sanctuary at sunrise. Shortly
after breakfast, we'll bring you to Santiago City where business
interaction will be organized. After which, take a glimpse of the
Magat Dam -- the biggest dam in Southeast Asia which provides year-round
irrigation supply of some 102,000 hectares of agriculture land and
ultimate capacity of 540 megawatts of hydroelectric power -- via
the hanging bridge at Camp Vizcara Nature Park. After which, we'll
proceed to the Philippine Army's friendly camp, Camp Upi, to see
interactive military trainings and adventures. Participants to this
group can enjoy a 9-hole golf tournament with their fellow businessmen.
DAY 04 Ilagan - Tuguegarao - Peñablanca
Still in the mood to explore? We'll bring you to Isabela's
Fuyot Spring National Park and Wildlife Station en route to the
Sta. Victoria Caves and Waterfalls. Here you'll see four (4) cathedal-sized
caves adjacent to each other with seven (7) other relatively unexplored
chambers. Each chamber has sharp and elongated stalactites and stalagmites
lovingly protected by the locals themselves. There is a creek passing
through one of the caves, but getting there is as difficult as passing
through the eye of a needle. In the afternoon, we'll proceed to
see the Callao Tourist Zone. Go kayaking or boating (whichever you
choose) along the Pinacanauan River, rappel (or learn how to), go
spelunking either or both Callao and Sierra Caves, and watch the
Circadian Flight of Bats when dusk comes.
DAY
05 Tuguegarao - Sta. Fe - Clark
Don't be left behind. Participate in the Asian Institute of
Management's (AIM)-sponsored Business Conference to know Cagayan
Valley business trends as well as which business venture to take
in the fast-emerging trade centers of the North. Government and
private sectors will be here for comprehensive roundtable discussions
on what to look forward to in the North's world of business.
