REVIEW:fast-paced;
a mix of outdoor fun and extreme adventure with a zing; intense
exploration; recommended ONLY for VERY ABLE-BODIED individuals with
a mean 4x4 machine
ITINERARY:
DAY 01 Clark - San Jose City - Sta. Fe - Bayombong - Banaue
Visit the Imugan Community, known for its organic food processing
and the Provincial Museum en route to Banaue, Ifugao, home to the
8th Wonder of the World, the Ifugao Rice Terraces. You may opt to
go on a leisure stroll of the town, or just use this time to rest.
The four days will surely take your breath away, literally.
DAY
02 Banaue - Bontoc - Sagada
After breakfast, we'll go on a rough but very scenic road (Have
you ever driven so close to the terraces? I don't think so
)
to Bontoc, the capital town of Mountain Province, for lunch and
a trip to the Igorot Museum. Sagada comes next. While in Sagada,
group will be divided to visit the Bomod-Ok Falls, Sumaging Cave,
and the Echo Valley. Waring: you gotta have good, strong legs to
manage these activities.
DAY
03 Sagada -Bugnay Village - Tinglayan
We'll proceed to Bugnay Village right after breakfast. It takes
an hour to reach the top of this living fortress. We'll bring you
here for you to have some village immersion on the Kalinga Mountain
Way of Life. After lunch, we'll proceed to Tinglayan where we will
take a walking tour of the Luplupa Village.
DAY
04 Tinglayan - Pasil - Tabuk - Peñablanca
This is the highlight of the tour. After the white-water rafting
clinic (safety briefing), we'll immediately proceed to Ambato for
set-up. Warning though: You must learn how to swim. Chico River
is extremely mighty, especially when the water level is high, so
watch out for those eddies. Whitewater rafting goes straight up
to Tabuk. By near dusk, we'll be in Peñablanca - the Callao
Tourist Zone. Get a load of their magnificent and oh-so-complex
cave systems. Take a dip at the mighty Pinacanauan River and watch
the Circadian Flight of Bats when dusk comes. Just be sure to have
a good sleep. Kayaking and rappelling activities await you the next
day.
DAY
05 Peñablanca - Tuguegarao - Sta. Fe - Clark
Still bursting with energy? Greet the splendor of sunrise while
river kayaking or sweat it out by rappelling. Remember that you
still have until lunchtime to explore the other majestic caves in
the Tourist Zone. At exactly 1 pm, we'll depart then for Clark.
