BARAGATAN 2002 - Palawan Province Foundation Day

Palawan, Philippines - The Province will be celebrating its 100th Founding Anniversary this coming June 23, 2002. The weeklong celebration starting on June 16 is aptly billed "Baragatan 2002". It is a convergence of people from the various municipalities with different religions, ethnic backgrounds and economic status.

The Baragatan 2002 will feature the Palaweños heritage through trade shows, exhibits and cultural presentations.

Baragatan - literally means gathering together or meeting one another. It comes from the Cuyunon word"Bagat", which means to meet.
