DESCRIPTION
A 4 days
/ 3 nights whitewater rafting adventure mixed with a dash of cultural
and geogical tour as we visit the unspoiled rice terraces and learn the
ways of life of the native Kalinga's of Northern Luzon.
ITINERARY
Day 1.
Manila > Tuguegarao > Tinglayan
Arrival in Tuguegarao on PR 208. Upon arrival, transfer and sightseeing
by jeepney to Tinglayan. Stop at Tabuk for lunch. In the afternoon continue
drive passing by the Chico and Pasil River confluence and the town of
Lubuagan known for beautiful rice terraces and handicrafts. Arrive in
Tinglayan late in the afternoon. Dinner and accommodation at the Good
Samaritan or Sleeping Beauty Inn.
Day 2.
Tinglayan > Bugnay > Luplupa -Tinglayan
After
breakfast leave for Bugnay, a traditional village in Kalinga. It is an
hour and half road travel on scenic mountain slopes winding alongside
the Chico River system. In Bugnay junction, proceed to the community center
by crossing a suspended bridge. Learn the native way of life and admire
their rice paddies in terraces build hundreds of years ago. Trek down
to the riverside for a picnic lunch.
Introductory and safety talk on white water rafting by our expert river
guide. A "trial exercise on command execution", a briefing on rafting
procedures. White water rafting along Chico River between Bugnay and the
Tinglayan boundaries for about two hours and half. Afterwards, transfer
to The Good Samaritan or Sleeping Beauty Inn for accommodation. Dinner
at the Inn.
Day 3.
Tinglayan > Pasil > Tabuk
After
breakfast transfer to the Chico River area in Tinglayan. Check out of
the Inn and raft from Tinglayan to Tabuk. In Tabuk, accommodation will
be at Davidson Inn. (A separate van will transport all the luggage to
Davidson Inn).
Safety talk and gear setup by the Chico River. This day's river run will
cover the whole length of Tinglayan to Tabuk approximately 7 to 8 hours
of rafting depending on water levels. The stretch is generally of class
3 to 4 rapids.
There are more than twenty rapids in this stretch. Picnic lunch by the
river along the Chico and Pasil - River Confluence. Continue rafting down
to Tabuk. In Tabuk transfer by jeepney to Davidson Inn. Dinner at the
Inn.
Day 4.
Tabuk > Tuguegarao > Manila
After breakfast take a short tour of Bulanao market for local delicacies
and souvenirs. Then transfer to Tuguegarao airport for the flight to Manila
on PR 237 (1205H/1300H).
