Feast
of San Clemente/ Higantes Festival
November 22 - 23
Angono, Rizal
The
artist town of Angono celebrates the feast of its patron, San Clemente,
with flourish. In a street procession, the sacred image is carried
out from its shrine, borne on the shoulders of male devotees, followed
by the "Parehadoras" (paddle-carrying devotees
clad in traditional Tagalog costumes) and "Higantes"
(giant papermache figures). A fluvial procession along Laguna de
Bay follows, after which, San Clemente is brought back to the parish
church.
