Masskara Festival

The carnival spirit fills the air as masked participants donning fabulous costumes as they dance their way around the city's main thoroughfares. The Masskara reflects Bacolod's love for "the sweet life."

Kasanggayahan Festival
October 15 - 25
Sorsogon, Sorsogon

The founding anniversary of Sorsogon province is celebrated with special events that include cultural shows, trade fair, exhibits, guided tours, and sports competitions. "Kasanggayahan" is the local term for prosperity and happiness.

Sagingan Festival
October 16 - 19
Tubod, Lanao del Norte

The celebration honors San Isidro Labrador, patron saint of farmers, and features a street dance pageant where participants don costumes fashioned out of banana plant materials. An agro-industrial trade fair showcases different banana varieties and other fruits in season.

Catandungan Festival
October 22 - 24
Virac, Catanduanes

The festival commemorates the founding anniversary of Catanduanes province. Among the featured special events are: Pantomina street dance, beauty pageant, agricultural trade fair, sportsfest guided tours, and photo exhibit.

Battle of Surigao Strait
October 25
Surigao City, Surigao del Norte

A tableau reenacts the famous World War II sea battle. Other commemorative activities include: military air show, naval open house, food festival, and ballroom dancing.
