Peñafrancia Festival

This is an annual festival in honor of Our Lady of Peñafrancia. It is a nine-day long colorful celebration started 300 years ago where thousands of devotees made pilgrimages to the riverside shrine. Regattas, vigils and cultural shows fills this nine day showcase of faith and revelry.

The fluvial procession highlights and caps the festivities where the image of the Lady of Peñafrancia is slowly paraded in the Naga River.

The float is exclusive to male devotees as it is a common belief that women may bring misfortune to the procession.
